Mother Macrina is a nun at Holy Assumption Monastery (OCA) in Calistoga, CA. The sisterhood revived the Calistoga monastery in 2009, although the monastery, founded in 1943, was the first Orthodox monastery for women in the United States. Mother Macrina was received into the Orthodox Church in 2000, entered monastic life in 2009, and attended St. Vladimir's Seminary from 2015-2017. She also had the blessing of visiting many monasteries around the world in 2017-2018. Within the monastery at Calistoga, she assists with administration, finances, and music.
